Research grants

A research partnership.
Built around your question.

Bring a question that matters to your organization. Work with PRISM to investigate it through computational research, with clear methods and findings you can examine.

01 / The opportunity

A question worth
investigating.

Metriq is providing up to $5,000,000 in PRISM Research Credits to support a range of computational research projects.

Tell us what you need to understand, why the answer matters and what data or evidence is available. We’ll help define the question, carry out the agreed research and explain what the findings support—even when the result is negative or inconclusive.

25k–100kPRC · suggested focused award
100k–250kPRC · larger research programs

Research credits have no cash-redemption value, cannot be transferred, and are limited to approved PRISM services. Individual awards depend on selection, approval and available research capacity. These ranges are guidelines, not guaranteed awards.

02 / Computational by design

Powerful methods.
Useful answers.

01

Mathematics & formal analysis

Develop proofs and derivations, test their limits and check the reasoning.

02

Models, simulation & optimization

Compare scenarios, quantify uncertainty and evaluate decisions under real-world constraints.

03

Data, algorithms & intelligent systems

Analyze data, develop algorithms and compare their performance with established methods.

04

Validation & reproducibility

Test research claims, reproduce benchmarks and document methods others can examine.

We do not run physical experiments, culture organisms, collect field samples or fabricate test hardware. When new physical evidence is needed, a qualified external organization generates it. PRISM’s work remains computational.

03 / Organizations & pathways

Different missions.
The same rigor.

PUBLIC-BENEFIT RESEARCH

Research with public benefit.

For nonprofits, universities, public bodies and mission-aligned teams pursuing research with benefits beyond their organization.

INDUSTRY RESEARCH PARTNERSHIP

Real technical problems.

For companies with a clear technical question, access to relevant data and an agreed plan for co-funded research or results others can examine.

GRAND CHALLENGES

Ambitious questions.

For high-impact questions that call for a dedicated research program, specialist expertise and separate approval.

04 / From question to evidence

From application to research.

  1. 01

    Describe your question

Create your organization’s account and tell us about the project. Keep your initial application nonconfidential.

  2. 02

    Review the research fit

We review the question, available data, scientific merit, public benefit and practical feasibility.

  3. 03

    Agree on the research plan

For selected projects, we agree on the scope, milestones, deliverables and project terms before work begins.

  4. 04

Start the work and stay involved

Research begins once agreements are signed and funding is approved. Track milestones, respond to questions and review deliverables in your account.

Start with the question.

Bring a question.
Build new understanding.

Start with a nonconfidential outline of your project. Awards are confirmed after selection, agreement on the scope and program approval.
